A quick peak at some of the best events on the Algarve

The Algarve has many exciting and unique events to offer visitors at any time of the year. From concerts to food festivals, international sporting events and medieval fairs, the Algarve celebrates the change of season, the creativity of artists and musicians and the importance of community and tradition. Below are just some of the regular attraction for visitors to the Algarve.

January The new year is welcomed in style with beach parties and fireworks on the beaches especially at Armação da Pera and Portimâo.

February

Carnival, Loulé The Carnival festival is over 100 years old and during this time has developed a reputation as one of the most dynamic and spectacular Portuguese events. Expect stunning floats, bright costumes and general fun and partying. The festival has a wide turn-out and often continues until the early hours.

In other towns, parades are less spectacular but equally popular with local people. Children all over Portugal take this event seriously and dress in elaborate costumes to parade through the streets and visit family and friends.
